ContactCross

Private beta

One address book for Google, Outlook and iCloud.

ContactCross keeps the contacts in all three accounts in sync, in both directions. Business cards become contacts from a photo, and every contact can carry its own to-dos, reminders and files.

Two-way sync with

Google Contacts

Microsoft Outlook

Apple iCloud

Sync

Add a contact in Gmail. Find it in Outlook.

Connect each account once. ContactCross imports the address books and keeps checking them for changes, so a contact added or edited in one account reaches the others, and edits you make in ContactCross go back to all of them.

How sync works

Card scanner

Photograph a card. Check the fields. Save.

Point your camera at a business card, or upload a batch of photos after an event. ContactCross reads the name, job title, company, emails, phone numbers and website into a draft contact, and nothing is saved until you’ve reviewed it.

Follow-ups

Keep the next step next to the person.

Add to-dos, reminders and files to the contacts they’re about. When you open a contact you see what you promised them, and the reminders view shows what’s coming up this week.

The rest of the address book

Duplicate detection
Contacts that share a name and email, a name and phone, or an email and phone are flagged. You pick which record to keep, and a merge can be undone.
Mass edit
Change the company, job title, tags, addresses or notes on up to 100 contacts at once, adding to what’s there or replacing it.
CSV and vCard
Import from a spreadsheet or a .vcf file, with columns matched for you. Export any selection back out and choose which fields to include.
A 30-day bin
Deleted contacts wait in the bin for 30 days before they’re removed for good, so a wrong click is easy to take back.
Related contacts
Record who introduced you, who works together, and who is a customer, supplier, investor, friend or family.
Contact filters
Narrow your list by keyword, field, group or tag, and save up to five searches you run often. Included in Standard and Premium.
Share as vCard
Send a contact as a vCard file or show it as a QR code that a phone can scan straight into its address book.
Backups
Take an encrypted snapshot of your contacts, to-dos, reminders and files, and restore it in place. Once a day, or once an hour on Premium.

Security

Your address book is other people’s details.

Here’s how ContactCross handles it. The security page has the details.

Questions

Something we didn’t cover? Email support@contactcross.com.

Can I sign up today?

ContactCross is in private beta and we’re adding people by invite. Email support@contactcross.com and tell us a little about how you’d use it.

Does ContactCross change the contacts in my Google, Outlook or iCloud account?

Yes. Sync runs in both directions, so an edit you make in ContactCross is written back to the connected account, and a change made there comes back into ContactCross. If you’ve edited a contact in ContactCross and that change hasn’t been sent yet, your ContactCross version is the one that’s kept.

How often does it sync?

It depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on Standard and Premium, every hour on Basic, and every 6 hours on Free. Paid plans keep that pace even when you haven’t opened ContactCross in a while. You can also start a sync yourself from the Integrations page.

Why does iCloud need an app-specific password?

Apple doesn’t let other apps sign in to iCloud contacts the way Google and Microsoft do. Instead, you create an app-specific password in your Apple Account settings (two-factor authentication needs to be on). We store it encrypted and never ask for your main Apple password.

What happens to the business card photos?

The photo is processed in the EU to read the text, then saved with the new contact so you can check it later. It counts toward your storage.

Is there a mobile app?

ContactCross runs in your phone’s browser, including the card scanner. Native apps for iOS and Android are in development.

Can I get my data out?

You can export any selection of contacts as CSV or vCard from the contact list whenever you like. For a complete copy of your account, including to-dos, reminders and files, contact support.
